About Us

Mornington Peninsula Kids was born from a local mum who found it difficult to source local information that helped make family life fun.

As a mum of a new baby, I relied on the internet to connect me with what was happening around me. However, everything seemed to be either city centric or very commercialised.  When I spoke to other families I discovered there were so many fantastic opportunities on the Peninsula and I would also often find out about great family events after they had been held.  From there I started on the mission to develop a resource for families that would connect them with local businesses, groups, activities and events.

While planning began in 2007, it wasn’t until 2011 that I engaged a web designer to pull together all my ideas and visions and in June 2012 we launched Mornington Peninsula Kids to the world!  I was overwhelmed with how quickly the concept was embraced by businesses and the community alike.  Both the Mornington Peninsula Kids website and Facebook page have become a regular source of localised and specific information for families residing and visiting the Peninsula.

In early 2013 we expanded our team to allow us to continually improve the service we provide and to offer more and more exciting opportunities to the Mornington Peninsula Community in the future.

I am a mum of two busy girls aged 4 and 6 years.  We love living on the Mornington Peninsula and love investigating all corners of it’s beautiful environment.  For the past 13 years I have been very fortunate to work for a community based emergency services that has allowed me to build a real passion for true community development.  I now take these experiences to help build our Mornington Peninsula Kids Community and love every minute of it.

Having grown up in country Victoria, I moved to the Mornington Peninsula after marrying what my beloved dairy farmer grandfather calls a ‘boy from the big smoke’. It allowed us to be close enough to Etihad Stadium for him, and far enough for me to find trees and open spaces. After working in our own local small business, I became a stay at home mum 4 years ago when we welcomed a little boy into our family. Two years later a delightful baby girl completed our family. My days are now filled with giggles, tears, joy and tantrums. Some days we go exploring the Peninsula to report back to you, other days we make our fun at home. Joining the MPK team has given me a greater appreciation of everything our region has to offer and how lucky my children are to be Mornington Peninsula Kids.
